Glory Road
I was flipping through channels tonight on TV and I came across the movie "Glory Road." It is the story of the Texas Western basketball team who in 1966 thrilled portions of the nation by winning the NCAA Men's Basketball Championship with an all-black starting lineup, thus breaking an unspoken barrier and transforming the history of college basketball. The team had to face all kinds of adversity that year, especially from those who were racist. The team responded to the adversity by becoming closer, by encouraging each other and inspiring each other to overcome everything and play to play great. It wasn't an easy road. It was very difficult for the whole team. But I was inspired by the movie--it shows that a team, if they stay close to each other and support each other through adversity, great things can happen. I would recommend the movie if you haven't seen it. It is awesome.
